24th

We had a pretty mellow 24th as well.  We didn't even go and see the big fireworks the city does every year.  We did make it to the parade on Main Street and even ended up taking a couple of family pictures.

Jane's Blessing

We blessed Jane on July 21, 2013.  Richard gave such a sweet blessing and it was wonderful to have so many friends and family present to show support.

Last 2 Weeks

The past 2 weeks have been pretty crazy.  Mostly filled with family events and such, which is why I'm still playing catch-up with my posts.

2 year anniversary of Richard proposing . . . took a hike to the same spot and boy are we ever out of shape!  I guess I had a pretty good excuse of having a baby 6 weeks earlier.

My Grandpa Turner passed away on the 14th.  His viewing was on the 19th and the funeral on the 20th.  It was a very bittersweet goodbye and I'll miss him very much. 

Earl “Bud” Walker Turner, 74, died on July 14, 2013 in his home in Lehi, Utah. He was born on December 19, 1938 in Lehi, Utah to Frederick Charles Turner and Naomi Hannah Walker. He married Donna Somers for time and all eternity on September 15, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He grew up in Lehi, Utah and graduated from Lehi High School in 1957. After graduation he served his country in the U.S. Navy for two years, stationed in Japan. He earned his livelihood working 30 years at Tooele Army Depot as a Federal Firefighter. He later enjoyed working at Lindon Elementary where he loved the children and teachers.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and golfing with friends and family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his sweetheart at Aspen Grove Campground. His life was spent giving selfless service to family, friends and neighbors. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party. He delighted in the care of his yard and garden.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; daughters Wendy Woods (Las Vegas), Bonnie Blackburn (Saratoga Springs), Toni Thatcher (Las Vegas), and Beverly Richins (Saratoga Springs); 19 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his sister Donna Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Matt; sisters Ruth Colledge, Jean Brems, and Bessie Chadwick.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork 29th Ward Chapel, 673 East 300 North, American Fork. Friends and family may call on Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the same meeting house. Interment- Lehi City Cemetery.

The summer has been going by so fast.  We have a couple of adventures planned for the rest of the summer, but other than that life should slow down just a little bit.
