Well I can definitely say for sure that I am kind of turning into a slacker Mom.  In addition to not posting your 3 month update on the blog, I didn't really do the dishes or keep the house clean for a couple weeks either.  Yikes.  Anyway, these pictures were taken on your 3 month mark so at least I get points for that.  You are such a delight little girl.  You've such a smiley little girl and you love it when your Daddy gets home from work or anytime for that matter.  You rediscovered your voice after being pretty quiet for a couple of weeks.  You talk the most when no one is bothering you or talking to you.  Silly girl.  You can roll over from your tummy to your back pretty proficiently and you love chewing on your own hand.  Still won't take a pacifier of any kind, but that is okay since you really rarely cry.  You are solidly in 0-3 month clothes . . . not too big or too small.  You're also still in size 1 diapers.  We love you sweet baby girl and look forward to you getting bigger.

     

Summer Trips

We didn't do a whole lot of adventurous stuff this summer,  due to having a newborn and all.  We did however manage to make it up to my grandparents farm in Idaho and a Bear Lake trip with a few other couples.  See pictorial evidence below.

Chickens . . . mmmm

I'm not sure if I mentioned previously that we got 4 chickens earlier this spring.  The mmmm in the title reference our 4 ladies.  Martha, Mabel, Millie and Margie.  Crazy old lady names, but we love them.  Richard built a chicken coop into the shed (that still needs to be finished before winter might I add) of course after we had them in the house for a week or two.  Mabel (aka, the "ugly one") was in the house for almost a month.  She was a runt and had been picked on so much that she was missing feathers and bleeding.  We separated her from the "fat ones" so she could get bigger and stronger.  Once we brought the baby home from the hospital and walked into our house, I didn't care anymore.  My house smelled like a chicken and so I made Rich put her out with the others.  The only problem with that was she no longer thought she was a chicken.  She segregated herself from the other chickens and by so doing was starving herself.  We ended up putting food and water in the area she stayed in.  She eventually started associating with the other chickens again and now is the ring leader.

Wow baby girl, has it really been 2 months already?!  Doesn't seem it, that's for sure.  Your sweet little personality has really been coming out this past month.  We love your shrieks and squeals.  They make us smile and laugh.  You really started smiling like crazy in the past week or so.  It is so fantastic to have you finally reacting to all the crazy sounds and faces your weird parents make.  You've been a tummy sleeper this past month and boy has it ever made a difference.  You sleep so much better, although I'm still a littler paranoid about SIDS, I'd rather you get the sleep you need to be a happier baby.  We don't have you on any sort of schedule yet.  We'll have to start working on that.  You're still not so sure about using a pacifier.  You'd rather just suck on your entire hand (see below).  You've also become quite the little drooler the past couple weeks or so now.  We took you to your 2 month check-up where they gave you 3 shots and you cried and cried.  Good thing Daddy is good at calming you down.  You've definitely started filling out and getting a little chunky.  You weigh 11 lbs 2 oz which is in the 57th percentile.  You are 22 inches which is in the 33rd percentile.  And your head circumference is 38 cm which is in the 28th percentile.  We love you baby Jane!

We had a pretty mellow 24th as well.  We didn't even go and see the big fireworks the city does every year.  We did make it to the parade on Main Street and even ended up taking a couple of family pictures.

Jane's Blessing

We blessed Jane on July 21, 2013.  Richard gave such a sweet blessing and it was wonderful to have so many friends and family present to show support.
