Wow, so it's definitely been awhile since I last wrote. Oops. So, we're now down to 9 days. That's right, 9. 9 days until I marry my best friend for eternity :) Well, I promised on my last post that I would write the engagement story, so here goes. I was going through the temple on July 13, so Richard had wanted to do a nice date the night before. He had talked about how he was sorry getting the ring had been taking so long, so I figured I probably wouldn't have a ring until later that week. He picked me up and we went to dinner at The Garden restaurant in Salt Lake. Mind you his car had broken that afternoon, so we took mine. While eating he asked me if it would be okay if he decided to get the ring from a different place because he had forgotten about a connection he had with a jewelry store. Size 5 and square diamond, he asked to make sure. I told him to remember a flat band. He then told me that what if he had already ordered a round band. After dinner we walked around Temple Square and then headed back to Bountiful. While driving I was suddenly struck with the thought that maybe I really wasn't a size 5 and that I was a size 5.5. Basically, I was just setting him up for disappointment all over the place. It was about time for the sunset when he asked me if the shoes I was wearing would be fine for a short hike. They would not have been fine, and so I went home to get different shoes. By the time we got on the trail, the sunset was pretty much done. We hiked this short trail above the Bountiful Temple. There was still a little bit of color in the sky and we sat and watched the colors fade. While I was sitting there pondering, Richard asked me if it was going to be weird having him at the temple the following day as my "fiance", but without a ring on my hand. I told him it would only be bad for me because of the lack of a ring. He then got down on one knee and asked me if I would be his fiance for tomorrow and his wife for eternity. I'm sad to say that I was pretty stunned and kind of just stared at him for awhile. Then I said yes and we hugged and possibly kissed. So, there you have it, the engagement story. Here's some of our engagement pictures taken by Richard's uncle. We got bridals/groomals done on Tuesday, so hopefully I'll be able to post some of those soon.
