Being Spontaneous and Adventurous

So most of the people who know me wouldn't consider me to be of the spontaneous or adventurous type. I usually like to plan everything in my life out days, weeks or even months in advance. I'm usually too afraid to be anything short of adventurous either. I've been in Hawaii for just over 3 weeks now and have been having adventures and being spontaneous. Let's have a recap:

1. Texted airport boy
2. Rode the bus for the first time and went to the mall and beach by myself
3. Tried shrimp for the first time . . . weird texture, but I can stomach it
4. Hung out with airport boy, went snorkeling, saw a sea turtle, ran down the street at Waikiki and danced on the beach (I was later dropped on my head in the sand due to my failure at a swing dance move)
5. Rode the bus up to the other side of the island to see the Laie temple by myself
6. Laid on a beach under the stars and listened to airport boy play the ukulele
7. Got 2 hours of sleep and proceeded to watch General Conference, then go on a killer hike
8. Jump off a 25 foot waterfall and land ever so gracefully on my stomach . . . I've got the bruises on my ribs to prove it
9. Went on a midnight bike ride to a beach house and proceeded to get 4 hours of sleep and watch General Conference the following day
10. Hiked to a sweet waterfall today by myself

I hope the adventures continue. I just need to keep hanging out with people who are adventurous and spontaneous. Hopefully it'll rub off onto me.

  1. I like the sound of having some one play the ukulele for me on a beach.
I have sympathy pains for your ribs my friend! I keep hitting and injuring the same elbow over and over again for the last year. One day I think my arm is going to just fall off.

  2. The night on the beach was so great. I felt like it wasn't real; like it was out of a movie. You really only need one arm anyway :)

  3. So are things going anywhere with airport boy or do you guys just hangout? I'm jealous of all of your adventures. All I've got is a lot of studying. Sounds like things are going well.
